We have plenty of big screen TV’s to watch all your live sports on along with our TAB if you feel like a flutter on the horses or if you fancy, try your hand at winning some money on the pokies. There is plenty more too to entertain you here at The Turf.
We have a range of options for lunch with our sunny Garden Bar or if you prefer then you can head next door to The Bach Bar & Restaurant and sit down in our newly renovated restaurant and enjoy a varied menu plus a great selection of wine and beer on offer.
At The Turf Hotel – we’ve got all of that and more. You’ll find us on the corner of Songer Street and Main Road, Stoke, Nelson – right in the middle of many of our regions great sporting locations; Saxton Field, Greenmeadows, Tahunanui Sports Grounds to name a few.

The Turf Hotel has a long history in Stoke, in the Nelson region as the place to go after the game. Now back to being LOCALLY owned and LOCALLY operated, we are dedicated to bringing history back to the present and inviting all sports codes to make us their “local”.
The bar has plenty of widescreen T.V’s and Sky Sport to watch your favourite live match as well as pool tables, darts, gaming machines and a TAB.
Our garden bar is spectacular with big open spaces, plenty of room for a BBQ and live music in the warmer months. Bring the whole team back or park up with the family.
If you want to eat at the bar instead of going through to The Bach Restaurant, we have a good selection of bar meals available.
Both the Garden Bar, The Sports Bar and The Bach Bar & Restaurant are available for functions and group booking with reservations recommended. We're a popular choice for family-friendly dining in Nelson.

The Turf Hotel has affordable accommodation available in good, old fashioned Kiwi pub style. There is Sky TV in the sports bar, off street parking, large communal lounge and kitchen area. The community style atmosphere is perfect for group bookings such as sports trips and weekend getaways.
